Finished Models

CINDY SUGAR-CRUSHER:

Full turntable
So Cindy is finally finished she's a model with the sole purpose of showing detailing and posing methods in zbrush. with this model i didn't think to much about how high or low the poly count was on the mesh she was purely for detail only and not thinking about any colour or anything remotely close.

The Claw
The claws were a simple Sphere shape at first and using the reference image i had, i made a rough shape of the claws. for the hard edges of the claws fingers i used the Clip curve tool to cut into the mesh the hard edges. the hardest one to cut into, was the two inner claws as i had the clip brush mirrored so they kept on cutting into each side weirdly, but i managed to make it work. i also used the HPolish and flattern to help me get the hard surfaces.
The padding on the claws were pretty easy to do as i just masked the area i wanted to be padded, inverted the mask, and used the move and claybuild up tool to help raise the mesh, and used the claybuild up tool with a slashed looking alpha channels to give the claws that rough used look. The tubes on the end of the claw you put there using a the curvetube tool and then finished with an alpha like the slashed looking alpha but a bit softer to make it look like wiring.

Eyelashes and Hair
For the hair i basically used a sphere and shaped round her head. i used the clay, Claybuild up and inflat tool for the detailing of the hair and i also used the Curve tube tool to add in the smaller stands of hair.
For the eyelashes i downloaded a brush from BadKing.com and had to alter the length from one side to the other of the eye, via the stroke modifier.
i also based Cindy faces around this girls face but added some adjustments to make sure she kept almost as close to the original design.

The Hair
I decided to sculpt the hair completely in case i wanted to have a turnaround where i had modelled the hood down. that is still an option to remodel the hood down however that is ONLY if i have enough time at the end.

The Base
for the base i wanted something that represented the character a lot, so a teddy bear (considering thats the main theme of the characters outfit and weapon) and slash marks, to show Cindy's unstable/wild side. The teddy bear was an alpha i made in photoshop and then dragged onto the podium via the clay tool, although the alpha colours were clearly not that strong as it didn't really show up very well.

TASHA

Yayayayayayayay Tasha's finished, however i need to update the lighting which i will be doing later but yay, thank god. All of Tashas textures were done in mudbox and photoshop while her normal maps were created in Xnormals and Photoshop for the clean up. the modelling and the posing were done in Zbrush and using Zbrush's plug-in (which would have been helpful for cindy) called TransPoser where you can either use Zspheres or just pose with the rotation tool.

Tasha's final model was interesting as i realised near the end i hadn't really given her the cheeky smile i forgot i was aiming for, so she has kind of a vacant stare which i am not too pleased with, however with her overall model, i'm very proud in the fact that i managed to go through the process of having a low topology as a base model, transfering the high detail via Xnormals onto the lower poly, and using the combined power of both photoshop and mudbox to help me texture her fully.
the whole model had very little to no glitches while finishing off, however one of the major problems was the hair, as it wasn't topologised or UV mapped very well the first time round and the normal map reacted badly because of that, so i decided to remake the ponytail which actually worked out better in the end compared to its predecessor.
For the werewolf the fur was an alpha brush i created in photoshop and then reused when i went into photoshop. While modelling the head i referenced wolf snarls, threats, jaws, gums, teeth (via colour and damage), i also looked up whether the tongue was like that of a cats where it's rough. For the textures i knew the character was going to have black fur but that did get slightly in the way for any darker patches in the fur so what i had to try and do was lightly lighten up patches around the darker areas.

The were wolf also allowed me to think about using polygroups for seperating normal maps which helped me out considerable in the end especially around the hands and feet, however i didn't do that for her human self which i sort of regret as i should have gone back and fixed that but at this point she was already fully textured and i was falling behind in my work because of the faff around trying to apply normal maps in maya.

Silvanna

Silvanna, your typical ninja assassin, is finished. she was a speed sculpt bust done in 2 hours on zbrush utilising all of the skills i have learnt while using Zbrush in this project, such as polygroups, the curvetubes, extractions on meshes, mesh layering, using different types of brushes efficiently and more.

This Video is the time lapsed version of speed sculpt in process, as well as the turntables of both the coloured version (which actually took 3 hours) and the non coloured sculpted version.
Whereas the one below has the speed up process with no cuts and just the sculpted mesh turntable at the end.

LEAH

Leah's Turntable from Tiffany Hall on Vimeo.

the final model finished and ready for viewing pleasure, i would have to say i'm quite proud of this model, because of the bike and the cloth i had to work around. the bike was a completely new venture for me so it was excited to learn something new in maya, and the cloth was interesting to model as well. All those years sketching cloth in my fine art classes paid off.
there are a few issues with the cloth around the motorbike and with her hand while it tries to interact with the cloth but overall i'm quite happy about what I've learnt over the course of this module and would be happy to continue learning in this field!! :D
